A Silent Concert in the Forest: Sonic Walk Recap (+ Full Video)

Last Saturday, September 19th, something magical happened in the woods near Trimbach. We hosted our very first Sonic Walk – and honestly, I’m still glowing from it.

If you’ve never heard of a Sonic Walk, imagine a silent concert in the middle of nature. Instead of loudspeakers, everyone wears headphones, connected to live performances. Like a silent disco, but slower, softer, deeper. Nobody is disturbed, and everyone gets to experience the music in their own personal way.

The lovely hosts, Ashtom and Lene, welcomed our guests with coffee, homemade cupcakes and warm conversation. At 2 pm, we walked into the forest together, picnic blankets and water bottles in hand, and settled into a beautiful spot surrounded by trees. Then the afternoon unfolded.

I opened with improvised ambient livesets – music made for the moment, emerging with the space and fading away with it. Later, Ashtom took us on a journey through his very own electronic soundscapes, letting our minds wander through fantastic worlds and desperate realms. Some people sat perfectly still, meditating. Others wandered off to explore, sketch, or simply lie in the grass and let the sounds wash over them.

That’s the beauty of a silent concert in nature: there is no right way to listen. You make the experience your own.

Around 6 pm we returned, and a lovely group joined us for dinner at a restaurant nearby – the perfect cozy ending to a wonderful day.

A huge thank you to everyone who came, to Synth Club Zurich for supporting, and to our two performers.
